All Hallows Healthcare Trustees

Trustees are responsible for the direction and performance of the charity. They serve as volunteers and receive no payment for their work. Charity trustees come from all walks of life and and are united by their wish to create positive changes in society.

John Randle ~ Chairman John Randle is a management consultant for Healthcare and specialises in charitable hospitals and nursing homes. He has over forty years experience which started in the NHS, mainly at Westminster Hospital and he was much involved in the major reorganisation of the NHS in London in the mid 1970s. Subsequently he joined BUPA and set up their hospital organisation prior to starting the John Randle Associates consultancy in 1978. In 1985 John Randle instigated the formation of The Hospital Management Trust, an organisation dedicated to developing the role of charitable hospitals within their founding ethos, both in the UK and abroad – and he is Chairman of the HMT Executive Committee. John is a Trustee of St Mary’s Convent and Nursing Home, Chiswick and of All Hallows in Suffolk. Until recently, he was Chairman of the Trustees of the Westminster Almshouses and was on the Board of the Hospital Accreditation Programme. Among his overseas commitments, he advises the Boards of charitable Hospitals in Zimbabwe and formerly in Singapore. He helped create the Independent Healthcare Association in 1986 having previously run the Association of Independent Hospitals. He chaired IHA from 1992 until 1995. He also founded the Charity Hospitals’ Federation in 1997. Since then he has been closely involved in the formation of the London Consultants’ Association and advises a representative body for doctors nationally, known as the Federation of Independent Practitioner Organisations.

Maureen Davies ~ Vice Chairman "Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, I graduated from King's College, Durham University, and worked as a recruitment and training oficer for an international company, before marrying, having three children and moving abroad. I have lived in France, Switzerland, Belgium, the U.S.A. and Venezuela and came to live in Bungay in 1992. I have been a committee member of the Friends of All Hallows Hospital for several years and served as Chairman for three, was a member of the Hospital Advisory Group, as well as continuing to be involved in various organisations in the town. In 2007, I was Town Reeve and now serve as a Governor of Bungay High School."

Roger Claxton Born and brought up in Lowestoft Roger Claxton is a Chartered Accountant, having qualified in 1984. He was a partner in a large accountancy practice in London for over 20 years before moving to Norwich in 2003. During his time in practice he acted for a number of charities. For over 25 years he has provided financial advice to St Mary’s Convent & Nursing Home. His experience of the issues facing that charity complements his position as a trustee of All Hallows Healthcare Trust. He also advises the English Association, an educational charity incorporated by Royal Charter.

Howard Green Howard Green was in the local NHS for sixteen years, latterly at Managing Director and Chief Executive level. After a spell away working for a US Health Analytics company and then BUPA, he has returned to Norfolk as an independent Healthcare Management Consultant, providing services both to the private and public sectors. Howard lives in Norwich with his wife and daughters and is involved there at St. Augustine’s Church and a number of charities, including the King of Hearts Arts Centre and Café.

Dr Peter Kemp "I was a GP in Harleston South Norfolk for thirty years and now work part-time. I am married to a fellow GP Helen and we have four children and six grandchildren."

Richard Musgrave Born in London. Moved to South Norfolk in 1981. Originally qualified as a Quantity Surveyor in 1969 and subsequently developed a career in the construction and related engineering industries acting as either a consultant or in senior commercial management positions. Past member of the Society of Construction Law and practising member the British Academy of Experts. Healthcare involvement in more recent times has included input to the operation of FM interface agreements covering the construction and operational phases of PFI projects at the New County Hereford, Stoke Mandeville, Addenbrookes and Oxford Churchill hospitals.

Sister Elizabeth "I am a local girl, born and educated in Lowestoft. After three years in Banking I went to Bristol University where I gained a BA in Theology and Sociology and an MSc in Social Sciences. The latter led on to a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. I taught primary school children for a year before joining the Community of All Hallows in 1976, where I taught for a further twelve years before moving into other areas of work within the Community. I have been Reverend Mother of the Community for the past five years."

David Sprake "I entered the law continuing a family tradition stretching back more than a century and I am a member of the Agricultural Law Association and a Trusts and Estate Practitioner. I have always been involved with the local community and currently serve as Clerk to the Bungay Town Trust and as a Trustee of All Hallows Hospital. I enjoy planting trees, playing golf and racing my Loch Long yacht at Aldeburgh."
